Nittnaus Blauer Zweigelt Neusiedlersee 2009
$14.99
Ruby red, very fruity, cherry aroma, a little bit spicy with average weight. Fruity on the finish, this wine pairs especially well with beef, venison, lamb and mushroom dishes.
Winemaker Note - "The Zweigelt 2008 comes from the lake-near vineyards of the Heideboden. Climatically, the Heideboden provides the ideal conditions (warm, mild, little rain) for this early-ripe, smooth and round variety. 2008 was a very balanced, mild and overall satisfying year for the Zweigelt. 12.5% alcohol, 5.2 g/l acidity and 1.9g/l residual sugar. Harvested from beginning to mid-September 2008, this Zweigelt was spontaneously fermented, aged in big used oak and bottled in November 2009. It shows a dark, ruby-red color, fruity and spicy, notes of cheery, blueberry and blackberry, good body and profound finish. Can be matched with almost any type of food. Also serves as a tasty introduction to a nice evening. "
Region: Neusiedlersee, Burgenland, Austria
Grape(s): Zweigelt
