David Hunter, General Manager and Wine Buyer

David has a very diverse background - from the military to business owner to restaurant manager for the Ritz to the much more laid back world of retail wine. Don’t let this young Bill Gates look-a-like fool you, he has been around the block once or twice - including passing 2 levels of the Count of Master Sommelier program. A lover of all wines from all regions, he can most times be found tasting wine or teaching classes in our private event space. Always friendly and willing to chat or to answer that wine question you’ve been dying to ask. You can email David directly at david@chelseawinevault.com

Vladimir Garcia, Sales Manager and Wine Buyer

Vladimir got started in the wine business at a very young age and simply fell in love with all it had to offer. He has dedicated almost ten years to the industry. If you ask Vladimir how he entered the wine world, he would simply answer, "By mistake!" He never knew he would find so much gratification helping consumers find the best wine possible. Vladimir has love and appreciation for the classic wine regions of Burgundy, Bordeaux, Piedmont, Rioja and Ribera del Duero. He has also become the go-to person for South American wines. He is passionate about introducing all this region has to offer. You can count on Vladimir if you are looking to build or add to your cellar or just trying to learn a little more about wine. You can reach Vladimir directly at vladimir@chelseawinevault.com

George Summer

George found his love for wine and spirits like most people: by stealing drinks from his parents when they weren't looking. Over the years he developed a taste for all things spicy and earthy or distilled. Having just sold his business in Florida, he has moved to the big city to pursue a life of heavy drinking and fun in the wine world. George is a nice Southern boy who loves quiet evenings at home sitting on his bear skin rug enjoying a nice Soffocone. George can be reached at george@chelseawinevault.com.

Elyas Beria

Elyas is Chelsea Wine Vault's web editor and resident graphic designer. What does a computer geek know about wine, you may ask? Elyas is married to a chef and food writer so he had no choice but to learn. His natural sense of curiosity also helped (i.e. he liked all the pretty labels.) What started out as curiosity though has, through travel, exploration, and study, become a passion for the fruit of the vine. Elyas has a decidedly New World palate but also counts the Old World wine monoliths of Amarone and Port as favorites. To reach Elyas, email elyas@chelseawinevault.com.

Nathalie Neata

Nathalie's fascination with wine stems from her love of all things epicurean. In her opinion, a precise pairing can be so utterly fulfilling that the diner is rendered speechless. Only the prospect of a better wine can pull one out of that trance. Wine's otherworldliness also appeals to her artistic side. Many an author and artist have found inspiration in a bottle of wine. Simply refer to the Pablo Neruda poem Ode to Wine to see what she means. Alas, her only quest at Chelsea Wine Vault is to share her extraordinary experiences with wine. If you are the type to fall headlong into the rapture of a fine glass, then please let this gourmand guide you to bliss. Nathalie can be reached at nathalie@chelseawinevault.com.

Jon Shaver

Having been a resident of the West Village and Chelsea for the last 15 years Jon is thrilled to be helping his neighbors find great wine. At 21 he moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado and fell in love with Champagne powder and a 1978 St-Emilion Grand Cru. The love affair continued over many years and miles so when it was time for a career change from acting, wine was the only field that made sense. After earning his certificate at the Sommelier Society of America at the top of his class and his advanced certificate at the Wine and Spirits Education Trust he served as assistant sommelier to Dominic Drivet at Jules Bistro before quickly moving on to be the wine director at Philip's. Loving restaurants, but not the hours, he decided to move on to retail and is psyched to have landed at "the Vault". He lives in Chelsea with his wife and two boys and can be reached at jon@chelseawinevault.com.
